The laws surrounding teens and health care can be vague and confusing. Depending on the situation, teens have the right to make some health decisions on their own. And confidentiality and consent laws vary depending on the teen's age and the treatment needed. In 2009, the ACLU of Ohio updated its popular booklet, "Your Health and the Law: A Guide for Teens." The guide helps
to clarify the often confusing and complicated laws that govern teens healthcare rights.
Legal explanations are accompanied by examples of situations teens might face, as well as
online and social service agency resources. Download the booklet for free or purchase print copies.
