Summary:

HB 181 prohibits public schools from releasing a student’s personally identifiable information to any office, agency, or department of the federal government, even for the federal Race to the Top program, unless the school’s board of education has adopted a resolution approving the release or consent has been given. The bill also states that even through state law, Ohio Board of Education rule, or other regulations of the Department of Education, no public school is required to comply to release the information.
