Our Take on This Bill

Despite Ohio Works First and the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program being vital lifelines for low-income Ohioans, HB 336 unnecessarily eliminates them for people who are convicted of felonies with a drug component while on the programs for three years. Depriving these individuals of assistance does nothing to improve issues to rehabilitate them, and it only makes the life circumstances of people who would otherwise be eligible even more desperate.
