About the Speaker: Cristina Page is author of How the Pro-choice Movement Saved America: Freedom, Politics, and the War on Sex, which has been called “a major work on women’s rights” and a “stirring…provocative salvo in the abortion wars.” She is a prominent reproductive rights activist and consults for several national pro-choice groups, including the Adoption Access Network and the National Institute for Reproductive Health. She moderates RHRealityCheck’s OnCommonGround forum – the only resource dedicated to covering news and perspectives on the search for the common ground in the abortion conflict. Her pro-choice policy proposals have been adopted by Mayor Michael Bloomberg. Governor Ed Rendell, and the New Jersey and Washington state legislatures. Page’s previous book was The Smart Girl’s Guide to College and her commentary has appeared in hundreds of newspapers nationwide, including The New York Times, The Chicago Sun Times, Newsday, and the Baltimore Sun. Page is also a regularly featured contributor to the Huffington Post. The Freedom of Choice Ohio (FOCO) Coalition advocates for reproductive rights and provides education and information to its member organizations and to the public on policies related to protecting and preserving reproductive freedom. The ACLU of Ohio is a member of FOCO. |
