The Equal Housing and Employment Act
(EHEA), H.B. 176, was
introduced into the Ohio General Assembly in May
2009. |
Updated 05.05.10 In September, 2009, the Ohio House of Representatives passed
H.B. 176 with a vote of 56 - 39.
Thanks to all who submitted written testimony, attended a committee meeting,
or called representatives in support of H.B. 176.
The bill is now in the
Senate.
Call your senator and urge his or her support of the EHEA.
The EHEA will guarantee equal treatment in housing, employment and public accommodations by prohibiting discrimination against gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender people.
Sexual orientation and gender identity have nothing to do with
one's ability to work or create a home. It is time Ohio law reflects
that, and we need your help to make this change.
