Protect Our Kids From Abuse In School

Your help is needed!

The Ohio House is considering a bill – House Bill 406 – that would ban corporal punishment in all of Ohio’s public schools.

You’d think this wouldn’t be a tough call.

  • Over 600 Ohio public school districts already ban corporal punishment.
  • Many, many groups support a total ban on corporal punishment in schools, and no one testified against the bill.
  • Corporal punishment is already prohibited by state law in child care, foster care, and institutions for children.

So why hasn’t the Ohio House voted on this bill yet?

Please contact your Representative today and urge them to pass this common-sense bill before they leave for summer recess.

You can look up your Representative by name or zip code online at http://www.house.state.oh.us/jsps/Representatives.jsp.

Or you can call 1-800-282-0253 to leave a message for your Representative, Monday through Friday, 8:30am – 5:00pm.

Please let us know once you have contacted your Representative and if you receive a response. We can be reached at (216) 472-2200 or contact@acluohio.org.

Sincerely,
