Action Alert!
Stop Warrantless Wiretapping!

On Friday, June 20, 2008, the U.S. House of Representatives passed the FISA Amendments Act of 2008 (H.R. 6304). This bill would allow the federal government to continue its illegal warrantless wiretapping program with virtually no oversight by courts. It would also grant immunity to telecommunications companies who aided the government in its unconstitutional program for the past seven years.

The bill is expected to go to the U.S. Senate as early as this week for a vote.

Call Senators Brown and Voinovich and urge them to oppose the FISA Amendments Act of 2008 (H.R. 6304).

The bill permits the government to conduct mass, untargeted surveillance of all communications coming in to and out of the U.S. Without proper review from a court, it leaves the door open for individuals to be spied on who have no connection to terrorist activities.

You can contact your Senators by phone or filling out their webforms.
