Jeff Gamso Argues in front of Supreme Court of Ohio
 


From 9:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, June 29, ACLU of Ohio Legal Director Jeff Gamso will appear before the Supreme Court of Ohio.

He will be arguing a death penalty issue. It used to be that when a person was sentenced to die by a jury and the death sentence was reversed for a new penalty phase hearing, death was no longer a possible sentence. The law was amended to allow a new death sentence under those circumstances. Which version of the law applies to a person who committed the crime before the re-sentencing law was changed?
