Expectations for campus clubs

Campus clubs are authorized to use the ACLU name as long as they meet the following expectations:

• Complete a registration form and mail to ACLU of Ohio, Attn: Campus Organizing, 4506 Chester Ave., Cleveland, Ohio 44103. The campus organizer will call you to talk about forming a campus club.
• Register with your school’s student activities office and follow all guidelines for student organizations set by your school.
• Mail the club’s student constitution to the ACLU of Ohio office. Click here for a sample.
• A bank account may NOT be opened in the name of the ACLU, the ACLU of Ohio, or a campus club of the ACLU or ACLU of Ohio. Accounts may only be opened in the name of "The Civil Liberties Club" or similar title. Check with your school about funding opportunities.
• Stay in contact with the ACLU of Ohio and give regular updates and report leadership changes and any issues that arise.
