Volunteer Position Available, October 2008
Literature Distribution Assistant

Position description
Distribute educational materials and flyers publicizing our events in or near your community. Help maintain a list of community organizations, local business, and other public areas where we can distribute our materials.

Volunteers are primarily needed in Cleveland and Columbus, but are needed in other regions of the state as well.

Specific skills needed

  • Must have access to reliable transportation.
  • Must be familiar with the area (and have a good sense of direction).
  • Must have good Internet research skills.

Requirements for all volunteer positions

  • ACLU membership, commitment to civil liberties issues and equality.
  • Proficiency with computers, including Microsoft Office, Internet and email. Access to email from home.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work independently.

Timeframe

  • A commitment of three months is preferred.
  • 10 hours per month, with a heavier workload in the early spring and late summer.
  • The ACLU will reimburse volunteers for mileage.

Schedule
Flexible as events are scheduled in the volunteer’s region of the state.
