Volunteer Position Available, October 2008
Cable/Public Television Outreach Assistant
Position description
Researcher to identify and contact cable and public television networks in Ohio who may be interested in running tapings of ACLU programs, attending and taping ACLU events in the area, and running prepared videos such as
The ACLU Freedom Files.
Limited travel may be required. ACLU will reimburse for pre-approved travel expenses.
Specific skills needed
- Basic familiarity with how the press works;
- Ability to find and synthesize information, especially on the Internet;
- Strong written and phone communication skills;
- Knowledge of associated technology and terms with recording visual media.
Requirements for all volunteer positions
- ACLU membership, commitment to civil liberties issues and equality.
- Proficiency with computers, including Microsoft Office, Internet and email. Home email access required.
- Attention to detail and ability to work independently.
Timeframe
- 5-10 hours per week, with a preferred 6 month commitment
Schedule
Flexible schedule within business hours of Monday – Thursday, 10 a.m.- 4 p.m.
