Recent activity
The group partnered with the Unitarian Universalist Church of Akron in September 2007 to host a screening of The Empty Chair. This award-winning film examines the pros and cons of the death penalty through the experience of four victims’ family members. A discussion led by anti-death penalty activist Mac Goekler took place after the film.

The group collaborated with Equality Ohio and LGBTU to celebrate Gay History Month in October. Together, they presented a two-part series examining the history of lesbian and gay experiences in the United States. Before Stonewall: The Making of a Gay and Lesbian Community chronicled the experiences of homosexuals in America prior to three days of rioting in June, 1969 that broke out after a raid of New York City’s Stonewall Inn. After Stonewall: From the Riots to the Millennium follows the struggles and triumphs of the gay rights movement following the Stonewall Riots of 1969 until 2000.
