Recent activity
On April 29, 2007, the North Central Chapter hosted its annual
meeting, “Liberty Lost: Racial Profiling Since 9/11.” Ahmad Al-Akhras,
activist with the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), ACLU of
Ohio board member and president of the Islamic Foundation of Central
Ohio, was the featured speaker. Dr. Al-Akhras discussed why racial
profiling is a threat to civil liberties and how it influences
individual rights. To learn more about racial profiling, please

More recently, in August 2007 the North Central Chapter participated in
celebrating Women’s Equality Day by joining with other local
organizations to commemorate the anniversary of women gaining the right
to vote.
The North Central Chapter is always seeking new activists. If you
are interested in becoming more involved with the ACLU locally, please

Meeting information
Second Monday of each month at 7.30 p.m.
Meetings are at Wilder Hall, Oberlin College, except during the summer
months, when they take place at board members' homes.
