BEFORE YOU WALK OUT THE DOOR, CHECK THIS LIST!
Tuesday, November 7 is the big day to cast your ballot! To avoid making a voting mistake, check these last minute tips before you head to your polling location:
- When are polls open? All polling locations will open on Tuesday, November 7, from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
- Where is your polling location? Many polling places may have moved or changed. Check your voter registration information online or call your county board of elections to find your location before heading to the polls.
- What identification do I need? You can use the following identification on Election Day:
- A driver’s license or state-issued ID
- Other government ID, but not a student ID card
- U.S. military ID card with your name and photo (address not required)
- Any of the following that shows your name and current address: cell phone bill, bank statement, paycheck, government check, or any other government letter such as Social Security or Ohio Job and Family Services benefit letter
- What if I’ve been purged? If you’ve been purged from the voter rolls between 2011 and 2015 and have not moved outside of your county, you should request a provisional ballot from an election official who is posted at your polling location. All information on the provisional ballot should be filled out carefully and completely, and avoid simple errors like misspellings or omission of dates.
- How do I file a complaint? In the event you are denied a provisional ballot or experience other problems on Election Day, such as being intimidated by non-election observers, please fill out the ACLU of Ohio’s Voter Complaint form.
