Tell Ohio Senators: Abolish the Death Penalty

Take Action

On March 28, Senators Nickie Antonio and Steve Huffman introduced Senate Bill 101, a companion bill to House Bill 259. If passed, this bipartisan legislation would abolish capital punishment in Ohio, an effort the ACLU of Ohio strongly supports. We encourage lawmakers to not delay action on this vital effort to put an end to the death penalty.

Capital punishment is inequitable, inhumane, and ineffective. It has far more to do with geography, money, and race than anything resembling justice. Across the country, 23 states and Washington, D.C. have already abolished the death penalty. Ohio should be next on the list. #NoDeathPenaltyOH

TAKE ACTION: Tell the Senate Judiciary Committee to pass SB 101.
