Bio
Riley Taylor serves as Advocacy Strategist on the ACLU of Ohio’s Policy & Advocacy Team. Riley has been organizing since she was 12 years old. She joined the ACLU of Ohio in 2022, jumping in with both feet into the campaign to enshrine abortion rights in the Ohio constitution. In her role as Southwest Ohio Advocacy Strategist, Riley is the on the ground presence for the ACLU in Cincinnati and across Southwest Ohio. She also leads the Southwest Ohio Action Team, the on the ground, organizing vehicle for the ACLU, through developing relationships with regional partners and stakeholders, growing a team of grassroots volunteer leaders, and developing and shaping local programs to advance ACLU issues.
Riley previously worked as an organizer for congressional, mayoral, and School Board campaigns in Cincinnati; and has also worked in opposition research and strategic messaging at the national level. Before finding a career in organizing, she worked on voter protection, LGBTQ+ rights, reproductive rights, educational justice, environmental justice, and gun reform campaigns throughout university and high school.
In addition to her work with the ACLU of Ohio, Riley serves as a board member for CISV Cincinnati, an international youth peace education non-profit, which she has been involved with since she was 11, and now gets the opportunity to ensure that more youth from around the world and right here in Ohio get to have the same transformative experiences she did.
Born and raised in Cincinnati, OH, Riley attended Walnut Hills High School and received her BA from the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada in US Government and International Relations.
