We're a few months into signature collection for the Citizens Not Politicians campaign, a ballot measure that would ban lobbyists and politicians from introducing unconstitutional district maps. Partisan gerrymandering has allowed for unchecked policy-making power at the statehouse, passing laws threatening the civil rights and civil liberties of Black, queer, and working-class Ohioans. When maps are drawn in ways that guarantee re-election, politicians are choosing their voters instead of the other way around.
