The ACLU of Ohio strives to protect the civil rights and liberties of students both inside and outside the classroom. We believe schools have a responsibility to foster safe learning environments, while respecting students’ constitutional rights to privacy, free speech, religious liberty, and freedom of expression. Our institutions of education must remain places free of censorship and reject efforts to stifle diversity of thought or the unique perspectives and experiences of students.
