Ohio Voter Rights Coalition Calls on Governor DeWine to Veto Anti-Voter, Unfunded Mandate House Bill 472

Columbus — Today, the Ohio Voter Rights Coalition calls on Governor DeWine to veto House Bill 472, warning the legislation would make it harder for many Ohioans to vote by mail and would introduce new identity theft and privacy concerns for voters. The bill would also force local elections officials to purchase, implement, and manage complex new systems and educate voters on major election law changes with no new dedicated state funding.
The coalition urges Governor DeWine to reject HB 472 and, instead, calls for increased funding for Ohio’s 88 Boards of Elections to ensure our elections remain fair and effectively administered, and to support election policies that protect eligible voters’ access to the ballot.
