Celebrate the freedom to read and recall some of the most famous pieces of literature censored over the decades. The night will include three rounds of Banned Books Bingo called by a few of our favorite local advocates! Follow along over the next few weeks as we announce the Guest Bingo callers! Seating is limited and tickets must be purchased by June 3 so be sure to secure your spot today! Your $25 ticket includes three (3) rounds of bingo, light refreshments, and an exclusive ACLU swag item.

We need your help on May 5. Sign up to promote Issue 5 at the Polls! After signing up for a shift, you will receive an email to sign up for one of our priority polling locations. PLEASE NOTE: You will need to come to the ACLU of Ohio Office to pick up your Vote Yes on Issue 5 literature and t-shirt BEFORE your Election Day shift.

Join the ACLU of Ohio and community partners on Saturday, May 2 from 12-2pm in Columbus for our fourth annual Trans Block Party! We’ll once again be celebrating and uplifting transgender, gender non-conforming, and intersex Ohioans with an afternoon of community resources, food & refreshments, a live DJ, and a fully stocked PRIDE swag-making station. We will have supplies to create all the signs, fans and buttons you will need for PRIDE this year! Now more than ever, it is important to come together and create a welcoming space for community members and allies. This will be an afternoon meant for celebration and the freedom to be exactly who we are. Together, we’ll continue to continue to fight for queer and trans folks' rights in the face of efforts to strip them away. Remember: joy is an act of resistance. Bring your friends, pack your sunnies and sunscreen, and get ready to have a blast! We welcome community members and allies of all ages to attend this fun-filled summer event.

Few organizations serve as fiercer defenders of constitutional rights and the rule of law than the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU). At a time when free speech, free assembly, immigration, and voting rights are being tested across multiple fronts, Americans have come to count on the ACLU for its unyielding dedication to principle — even if they don't agree on every issue. Deborah N. Archer is President of the national ACLU, where she serves as Chair of the Board of Directors and Executive Committee. She brings frontline insight into today's web of legal battles, and calls attention to how traditional tools for protecting civil rights are currently being weakened and tested. Deborah is a tenured professor and associate dean at New York University School of Law, and the faculty director of the Community Equity Lab at NYU Law. To mark Law Day 2026, Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association's Chris Schmitt will sit in conversation with Deborah N. Join the ACLU of Ohio to canvass Columbus neighborhoods to get-out-the-vote for the Columbus Safety Collective Campaign's (CSCC) Vote Yes on Issue 5 field mobilization for the May 5 Election. Sign up to join us on: Saturday, April 25th from 11:30am to 3pm and bring a friend, family member or neighbor to canvass with you!

The ACLU Statewide Action Team will be convening on Wednesday, April 15th from 6-7pm. Attendees will engage in a training and text-banking session in support of the Columbus Safety Collective campaign!

The ACLU of Ohio is hosting yard sign drive thru pick up events for the Columbus Safety Collective Campaign's (CSCC) Vote Yes on Issue 5 efforts on: Friday, April 10th - 12pm to 5pm & Saturday, April 11th - 10am to 3pm Stop by to pick up yard signs for yourself, your neighbors, or your organization to show your support and make sure Columbus residents know to Vote Yes on Issue 5 at the May 5 Election!
