20,000 Ohioans Pledge Support for Marriage Equality

The campaign for marriage equality reached an exciting milestone on August 26th by gathering 20,000 pledge cards signed by Ohioans from every county across the state. Why Marriage Matters Ohio (WMMO) had set this goal to be reached by the end of 2014 and has already surpassed it 4 months ahead of schedule. The list can only be expected to grow. Since Ohio’s marriage ban passed 10 years ago, great strides have been made and it is clear more people understand that love is love. The ACLU of Ohio is one of the founding members for WMMO and is also part of the legal challenge to the state’s marriage ban, Obergefell v. Wymyslo, which is currently waiting a decision by a federal appeals court.
