Key Dates for 2021 Primary Election*

Please visit the Secretary of State’s website to view the voting schedule and check with your local board of elections for more specific information on when and where to vote.

  • March 19: Military and overseas absentee voting begins 
  • April 5: Deadline to register to vote for May Primary 
  • April 6: Absentee voting by mail begins
  • April 6 – April 9: Early in-person voting at your County Board of Elections (BOE) 8am-5pm
  • April 12 – April 16: Early in-person voting at your County BOE 8am-5pm
  • April 19 – April 23: Early in-person voting at your County BOE 8am-5pm
  • April 26 – April 30: Early in-person voting at your County BOE 8am-7pm
  • May 1: Early in-person voting at your County BOE 8am-4pm
  • May 2: Early in-person voting at your County BOE 1pm-5pm
  • May 3: Early in-person voting at your County BOE 8am-2pm
  • May 3: Absentee ballots must be postmarked by this date
  • May 4: Primary Election Day – Polls open 6:30am-7:30pm; if not returned by mail, absentee ballots must be received by your Board of Elections by 7:30pm
