In a victory for transgender Ohioans and their families, the Supreme Court of Ohio has rejected a request by the state to narrow a temporary restraining order granted by a lower court blocking the state from enforcing its ban on gender-affirming medical care for trans youth. 

Today, the Franklin County Court of Common Pleas issued a temporary restraining order to prevent the ban on gender-affirming care for transgender youth from taking immediate effect.

Today, the ACLU, the ACLU of Ohio, and the global law firm Goodwin filed a lawsuit challenging the unconstitutional enactment of House Bill 68, and specifically, a discriminatory provision in H.B. 68 that bans gender-affirming medical care for transgender minors.
