Cindy Tomm serves at the Development Director at the ACLU of Ohio where she oversees fundraising initiatives for our affiliate. She believes that the ACLU, in its over 100 years, has shaped how we see and understand civil liberties in our country. She is motivated by the important work ahead us - protecting democracy and realizing our country’s best potential as a diverse and beautiful mosaic. Cindy sees philanthropy as opportunity and is excited to help others meaningfully invest in the ACLU of Ohio.

Cindy has been working in the non-profit sector in NYC and nationally for 15 years. She most recently served as the Interim Chief Development Officer at the National LGBTQ Task Force where she previously served as the Senior Manager of Major Giving. Prior to that, Cindy fundraised for the MinKwon Center for Community Action, an immigrant rights organization in Queens, NY. She has also provided direct service at the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) and organized advocacy initiatives for senior citizens with LiveOn NY. Prior to her career in non-profit organizations, Cindy could be seen on stage with the musical Miss Saigon and in various regional theatre productions of that show and many others.

Cindy graduated with honors from Baruch College with a Master of Public Administration and received an undergraduate degree in Vocal Performance from Indiana University Jacobs School of Music. When she isn’t raising money for progressive causes, Cindy is mom to a dynamic 8 year old named Izzy and enjoys gardening, cooking, bike riding and singing. She lives with her husband and daughter in Hilliard.
