COLUMBUS— Today the ACLU of Ohio sent a letter to Secretary of State Frank LaRose in regards to the lack of diversity among the members of his Ready for November Task Force, a coalition of Election Officials committed to election preparedness in advance of the General Election. The ACLU is concerned that voting advocates and other pro-democracy organizations have been excluded from this process and should be invited to the table to promote robust ballot access and enhance the democratic process.

“One of the best ways to give the people of Ohio confidence in their elections is to have an inclusive conversation on election administration. We strongly request that Secretary LaRose no longer leave voting rights advocates, disability rights advocates and minority led organizations on the sidelines of this process. Immediate action must be taken – from both the Taskforce and the Ohio General Assembly - to prevent a General Election disaster,” said Gary Daniels, Chief Lobbyist for the ACLU of Ohio.
